Experian are currently recruiting for an Environment and Configuration Analyst. Within this role, you will help to develop, implement and manage software configuration, code deployment and environment management.

As an Environment and Configuration Analyst, you will be responsible for:

* Executing code checkouts, promotions and demotions.
* Tracking, and merging of, and release of code throughout Solutions test, development and live environment estate.
* Coordinates and creates configured builds for test, development and live environments.
* Investigates, develops and implements the tool sets and procedures required to manage the above.
* Undertakes reviews of environments to ensure inter-environment compatibility, investigates environmental faults, etc.
* Undertakes housekeeping/maintenance tasks to keep environments secure and up to date.
* Commitment to the identification and delivery of service/process improvements that result in the delivery of tangible benefits.

The role holder will be expected to have an understanding and experience of operating the tools required, see section 3, but will be assisted and supported by the Environment & Configuration Technical Team Leads. Collaboration with Solutions and other colleagues, for example, EITS will be required to support and deliver the end to end services required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Working within the Environment team this role is responsible for the version control of code and support of those repositories and build tools within Solutions.
* To provide technical guidance and training to both the UK and offshore based teams.
* Sharing knowledge and championing the appropriate tools and processes within the team.
* Identification of service/process improvements within the immediate team, and wider business areas. Ensuring the delivery of tangible results for our customers through ownership of their implementation.
* Provide accurate/timely communications to customers in a non-technical style, including the communication of issues investigated by offshore colleagues.

Defect Resolution/Operational activities

* Defect and Operational activities prioritised in line with Service Level Agreements.
* Accurate resolutions provided to customers to agreed timescales.
* Existing tools and processes are championed to ensure a consistency within the team in the delivery of the agreed level of service.
* Management and planning of code releases through the all environments
* Management and support of Automated build process and tools.

Continual Service Improvement

* Own knowledge and skills are proactively shared within the team and wider, to drive continual development.
* Service/process improvements identified, owned and delivered.
* Understand and participate in performance management processes
* Actively contribute to a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business. Take personal responsibility to ensure that you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of our customers.


Demonstrable operational environment and code management experience.

Has sound and practical experience of customer service and meeting service levels.

Strong analytical/problem solving skills and communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.

Operational experience in one or more of the following TFS, VSN, Jenkins, Jira, Chef, Puppet, ServiceNow, build servers, artifactory, Splunk, Dynatrace

Practical experience of Configuration management, environment audits


An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

An understanding of Configuration Management principles
