Following the re-roll of HMP Durham to a Reception Centre, we now require sessional tutors who have different skill sets to other establishments on an ADHOC basis. We are looking for staff who are creative, adaptable, flexible and resilient as well as having the confidence, positivity, commitment, and willingness to deliver across a wide range of the curriculum within our Academy based model. We have a great opportunity to join the education team as a Multi Specialism Tutor on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

Our main ethos at HMP Durham is one of Engagement and motivation for our learners so they want to progress and engage with their education or employment on transfer to another establishment or on release into the community.

Our Academy Model delivery includes:

Business Academy- ICT, Graphic Design & Media

Enterprise Academy - Family Programme & Art/Social Enterprise

Functional Skills, Peer Mentoring and employability are also delivered across the full provision by peripatetic tutors. The purpose of these roles is to teach and engage with our learners, in order to give them the skills they need to have a better and brighter future.

To do this successfully you'll need to:

- Be passionate and experienced at delivering high quality teaching in a subject specialism

- Must have a teaching qualification and/or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards)qualification within a specified time scale.

- Have previous experience of curriculum delivery and a track record of successful learner outcomes
