We currently have 2 openings for enthusiastic Engineers to work in our offices located on the south coast. The successful applicants will join a small team in developing an innovative power dense marine diesel engine and associated components.



We are looking for 1 junior engineer and 1 more experienced





As Engineering Analyst, you will be responsible for some of the following types of activities:

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of componentry of the engine and future variants to assess whether they are fit for purpose

Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis of the fluid systems through the engine

Performance prediction of the engine using 1D software

Thermal analysis of the engine using appropriate simulation software

Developing analysis techniques and processes including the design of validation tests

Liaising with component suppliers to ensure that they understand the key factors which are critical to successful component deliver and also to make sure material properties used in internal

It is expected that the candidate will be capable of undertaking analysis of various different types once provided with the required training.



To be successful in this role the Engineering Analyst will have the following skills and experience

The candidate will have the following skills and experience:

A degree in an applied science discipline, ideally to Masters level

Strong understanding of the base components of a modern internal combustion engine

Demonstrable capability to apply first principle analysis to components under operating conditions

2+ years of relevant analysis experience

Beneficial skills and experience:

Experience of modelling lubricated sliding interfaces under load

Experience of any of the following packages:

Siemens NX and the accompanying analysis suite

Converge CFD software

LMS.Imagine.Lab.AMESim

Modelica

Some coding experience in languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB etc.

Understanding of the challenges of operating a combustion engine in a marine environment
