Due to a sustained period of growth within the business and team an opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to provide the financial reporting and planning information to support the business in decision making and performance monitoring. In addition, the team is responsible for the review and maintenance of the financial controls of the business unit.

Description

Production of the financial planning and forecasting processes, managing the activities of a number of stakeholders across the Group

Production of the full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, ensuring data is an accurate representation of the performance and financial position of the business and can be reviewed by External Auditors

Production of monthly Management Accounts, including detailed variance analysis, Executive Board report and reporting of monthly results to Corporate

Work with Finance teams in the design, implementation, management and self-assessment of financial processes and internal controls.

Support project activities which impact upon Finance Processes, using knowledge and experience to ensure that efficient and effective process controls are maintained throughput process changes

Support the quarterly analytical review and annual audit process, acting as key liaison with Company auditors, and any other external parties

Enhance financial systems and practices to improve efficiency and timely insight of numbers

Provide expert advice to HR Business Partners and Senior Leaders to drive organisational change, engaging Centre of Excellence support as appropriate, to ensure interventions are executed in line with Company best practices and in compliance with regulatory requirements

Profile

Qualified Accountant or individual suitably qualified by experience

Ability to co-ordinate financial activities (eg monthly reporting or business planning) across a large organisation to ensure timely and accurate data

Significant experience in a financial or management accounting role within a large organisation

Strong communication skills with all levels of management and staff

Ability to build effective working level relationships across functions including at a senior level

Some experience of SAP and good Excel modelling skills would be an advantage

Strong technical accounting knowledge such that individuals are responsible for resolution of technical queries for the business unit

Flexible and methodical approach to ensure deadlines are achieved

Demonstrates drive and commitment towards achieving targets. Good attention to detail and monitors own performance against expected results/outcomes

A rigorous and organised approach to the production of financial information and good presentation skills.

The ability to adopt a questioning attitude in relation to information provided and the effectiveness of processes in place is a key competence area

Job Offer

£35,000 - £45,000 plus wider package
