Systems Administrator- Microsoft, SCCM, Active Directory, Windows 10, Networking, Virtualisation, LAN/WAN, Veeam- Permanent- Manchester

Established business with a firmly cemented presence in the North West are looking for a Systems Administrator to join their Manchester office. This is an ideal role for candidates with existing experience in a Systems Administrator role/roles, who is looking for progression to work on a broader range of technical solutions. You will be well versed in a range of software, hardware and virtual concepts, with strong abilities to deliver high quality BAU task and project oriented outcomes, to contribute to excellence in the technical estate.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Educated with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or similar professional qualifications
  • Strong background in IT service management with certification in ITIL
  • Microsoft systems certification preferred
  • Previous experience across the Microsoft stack, including Microsoft Servers 2012 and 2016, Exchange, Active Directory and Office suites
  • Hands on experience with and understanding of Windows 10, preferably with previous migration project experience
  • Solid grasp of core networking concepts such as LAN/WAN and TCP/IP
  • Abilities to complete configuration and maintenance tasks with virtualized server clusters using VMWare
  • Understanding of security suites such as Forcepoint
  • Strong abilities in identifying technical problems and deploying debugging and fixing commands
  • Previous work with SCCM to deploy and maintain software applications
  • Understanding of SAN storage and Veeam back up beneficial


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Active Directory problems to cover all troubleshooting requests
  • Deploy new applications and maintain the software estate using SCCM
  • Act as a key contact for all networking issues across LAN/WAN and TCP/IP
  • Provide 2nd line support for technical faults in the IT landscape, including hardware such as printers, servers and components
  • Implement new hardware and complete all component fixes and updates, as and when required
  • Bring excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues within the IT team, as well as cross-functionally
  • Contribute to the production of policies and documentation concerning the technical environment of the business
  • Support IP telephony systems where appropriate
  • Support a Microsoft focused technical estate, including migration to Windows 10, and maintenance of Exchange and Office 365 suites
