A large public sector organisation based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire are seeking a Payroll Manager to work in their head office.

- Co-ordinate and manage all Payroll Department staff with particular
responsibility for the timely payment of salaries and severance
payments to all police officers, support staff and Members ensuring
compliance with current legislation / regulations / conditions of
service.
- Liaise with external organisations including the Force’s payroll system
providers and Pension system providers to ensure the service
delivered is always at the required standard and within service level
agreements.
- To develop and continuously evaluate all systems in use within the
department, to ensure that resources are maximized and that best
practice is achieved.
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of all
allowances/entitlements to Police Officers, Support Staff and Chief
Officers including the interpretation and compliance of complex Tax
and National Insurance issues associated with these
payments/entitlements.
- To develop appropriate and relevant policies with respect to the
operation of the payroll, as required.

Experience of managing a team
Experience of working in a Payroll team/environment
Excellent IT skills including all Microsoft Office packages
A flexible , focused and goal orientated approach
