Test Engineer- Advanced Electronic Products
Crewe, Cheshire
£30,000- £35,000 DOE + Bonus + Benefits + Flexi Working
Permanent Position

I'm supporting a growing and ambitious SME that develop advanced electro-mechanical technical devices and solutions for hazardous area applications. Due to continued growth we are seeking a test engineer to join the team.

Working alongside the R&D team you will take responsibility for the creation and development of all test plans, ensure verification of all electronic modules and carry out and facilitate all testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In combination with Design Engineers, create detailed test plans and procedures
  • Ensure efficient verification of new electronic modules and subsystem designs.
  • Carry out and facilitate tests working both in-house and utilising external test facilities.
  • Take an active role in design reviews to ensure design for test is considered and implemented.
  • Design test fixtures to support verification of these designs.
  • Procure, build and document prototype test fixtures.
  • Rationalise test fixtures and associated test plans & specifications to support ongoing production.
  • Maintain calibration records for bespoke and commercial test equipment.

Experience and Background Required:

  • Demonstrable experience working in an electronics engineering design or test role
  • Knowledge of CAD tools (ideally Altium)
  • Experience of working with electronics units, subsystems and systems
  • Experience creating plans and procedures for testing
  • Experience verifying electronic modules and subsystem designs
  • Experince in the development, procurement and build of test fixtures

Qualification Requirements

  • A degree, HNC/ HND in electronics engineering or similar
