Junior Project Engineer

Salary: £22,000 to £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience

An enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer is required to assist with primary post-order client liaison and in-company interface between client, Sales, Engineering, Production, Test and Accounts departments.

Key Accountabilities:
Coordinate / manage Sales to Engineering post-order Hand-Over Meetings, taking and circulating minutes as necessary.
Liaise with client throughout the project, requesting / providing information as required.
Prepare / manage post-order documentation including order confirmation, specification sheet, project plans, design approvals, etc.
Management of the project plan, ensuring adherence to all key mile-stones and critical dates, updating the plan and informing the client as required.
Identify potential issues and implement necessary preventative action.
Visit client sites for post-order discussions and/or site evaluations.
Organise / assist pre-delivery Factory Acceptance Tests.
Liaise with suppliers of third party equipment (e.g. labellers, cappers, check-weighers etc). regarding design, delivery and installation / commissioning.
Organise / manage shipping, installation and commissioning with responsibility for resolution of post-delivery commissioning issues.

Essential Skills:
HNC level mechanical or manufacturing engineering qualification (Recently qualified engineers are invited to apply).
Ability to understand client and technical requirements and establish the impact on the entire design (not just mechanical aspects).
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.

Desirable:
Degree level mechanical or manufacturing engineering qualification.
Experience of project managing the supply and installation of equipment within a manufacturing environment.
Proven ability of managing high value capital projects from post-order to commissioning, within budget and time constraints.
Experience in a similar 'special purpose' machine role.
