A well established and forward-thinking Housing Association in Cheshire & Merseyside are recruiting an Interim Head of Treasury whilst recruiting a permanent position. The overall purpose of the job is to manage the overall treasury function and assist in the business planning cycle. The job is key to the relationship with funders and banks, ensuring key reporting and funding covenant deadlines are met, and that the business maintains adequate cash balances to finance the organisations day to day activities, as well as having a view of longer term forecasting and planning.

As Head of Treasury, you will manage a small Treasury team which has strong interactions and links with Rents & Service Charges, Payments, Financial Reporting teams and the Governance team. Key to the job is to enable the communications and information flow between the teams to run smoothly, mentoring and developing your team as part of the wider finance function.

Key areas of the job will include:
• Management of the overall loan portfolio for Plus Dane.
• Review the Treasury Policy and procedures on an annual basis and ensure implementation.
• Responsible for managing the key relationships with the bank and funders.
• Lead on general banking and valuation tenders.
• Responsible for overall cashflow management and forecasting.
• Manage overall cash balances in line with the organisation’s Treasury Policy.
• Oversee and manage the overall security valuation process and ensuring adequate security is in place
• Maintain the loan and bank mandate as part of the Financial Regulations

You will support the Director of Finance in the Treasury related aspects of the Business Planning and as a key member of the Finance Management team you will contribute to the budget setting process, the year-end statutory accounts, updating of the Assets & Liabilities register etc and provide input into the monthly reforecasting process and the monthly and annual close-down process for the Finance team, ensuring that all key deadlines are met.

You will ideally be a qualified accountant or treasurer with a collaborative approach to working within a wider finance team and a desire to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally where required. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with external funders and providers. You will have a strong track record in continual improvement always looking to develop processes and procedures to stay relevant and meet the demands of a busy function.
