3 x Information Architects
We are working with a large financial services client based in the West Midlands and helping it build its Information Architecture team. Logikk is looking for three key hires to help continue the data governance, MDM and BI transformations.1)Information Architect with a bias towards managing metadata
Information architecture is partnering with the data governance. It is looking at the metadata (business-wise) to organise what is important and build a reference library. What are the data rules? What are the processes and procedures for capturing data? Storing data? Using data? Etc. You will gather information from the business to identify what the metadata is, so it can build a data repository. You will need to define data flows and work with the business to define standard terminology.
This isn’t a junior position. We are looking for someone who can go out into the business and sell why metadata is important and capture processes. You will work with the Information Architecture team as well as Solution Architects to help push the drive on metadata.
Pick up and build relationships with the data governance business and aim to get metadata into the main discussion, alongside wider data governance.2)Information Architect with a bias towards managing Business Intelligence
Understand data architecture and a little solution architecture but with a focus on BI. Again, looking at the standard IA workload but there is a BI project ongoing that will demand immediate attention.
The project is set to run until the end of 2018 and is a whole scale BI transformation. There is growth in the BI and analytics space across the whole company and you will be pulled in to work on multiple projects.
However, they are not looking for a BI purest. We do not foresee enough work to fully occupy a BI information architect, so you must be able to help with other areas i.e. Metadata. Yes, you need to be able to deep dive into BI but be T-shaped enough to help elsewhere.3)Senior Information Architect
This is an allrounder and generalist position when it comes to information architecture. You will have to take on some solution architecture responsibilities coupled with line management of other architects (2/3). This will be an experienced person and one that understands data architecture through and through.
You will have a good understanding of data governance and be the design authority in regard to information architecture.
Experience in (for all roles)·Data modelling ·Enterprise architecture·Data architecture·Data governance
Specific Tooling is less important. Looking for someone who has a broad range of tools used for the above experience. This said the client uses Collibra for metadata and experience with this would be useful.
We have a lot more info on the project and programme, so if you would like to hear more please get in contact with Ben @ Logikk. And send a CV!
