Great project to scope out the new finance structure within an academy trust as Interim CFO / FD. It is anticipated that this will take around 3 - 6 months and will need someone with previous academy or schools experience.

Yorkshire and the Humber based multi academy trust.


As Interim CFO / FD this is a great project to scope out the new finance structure within an academy trust based in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Key areas of delivery will include:

  • Co-ordinating the line management for a number of "on-site Business Managers", who essentially run the finances day to day within the individual Academies and jointly report the Principal of each.
  • Providing significant input into the Board meetings and responsibility of EFA compliance
  • Liaising with the academy sponsor and building effective working partnerships


As Interim CFO / FD you will be fully qualified ( ACA / CIMA / CIPFA / ACCA ) and have extensive experience of the management of the finances for an Academies Trust in previous roles.

You will ideally have a strong track record of project managing within the academy or schools sector and be able to "hit the ground running" using your accountancy skills in the delivery of some key project objectives, primarily the scoping out and implementation of a new finance team structure.
