An international mechanical Automation manufacturer is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer due to expansion of their product range. The role will see you sell their complete range of gearboxes. The ideal candidate will hold a mechanical engineering degree and have previous experience within the Automation industry.


Commutable from: Wolverhampton, Worcester, Birmingham, Warwick

Salary: £ 35,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + Company Car + Bonus

The Role

Responsible for supporting the profitable achievement of agreed annual revenue budget within the designated product range.
Calculate, produce and follow-up daily on technical quotations
Review industry specification in target market sectors and ensure that we are able to meet/exceed specification in terms of a commercial and technical offering for our product range.
Proactively manage gearbox opportunities including: developing a comprehensive industry standard library relevant to our strategic market sector, competitor product ranges,
Regularly liaising with existing customers to identify new business opportunities.
Together with Management and technical department, identify new solutions to offer customer to extend our existing services and products
Progressive manage an opportunity pipeline, closing all possible opportunities to achieve a Gross Profit result in line with set targets.
Project management of the roll-out of all new contracts, products and services.
Develop extensive knowledge of existing and potential customer base within defined industry/territory and develop a sales action plan to take advantage of market opportunities.
Provide detailed information and reports to the directors of the company as and when required.
Carry out analysis and produce reports on a monthly and as and when required basis.
Managing a range of customer projects at any one time.
Develop Market strategy for specific industries within your sales region together with the general manager of the company.
Face to face visit with customers will be enforced with a weekly target of 12-15 visits taking place as a minimum.

The Person

Several years of geared motor and / or power transmission industry experience
Resilient, strong communication skills, good relationship former and excellent telephone manner.
Previous technical sales experience in the power transmission industry is essential along with a positive , can do attitude. Technical sales experience in related fields will be considered.
Ability to rapidly develop a technical competence in e.g. gearbox selection, assembly, product application and pricing is essential.
Team working - a truly committed team member who will work effectively with individuals and teams, customers, Sales and Operations.
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines
