Revenue Controller - Manchester - FTC

Level of Role - AG Level 1
Department - Finance
Reporting Line - Billing and Collections Manager


Purpose of the Role The revenue control team are responsible for processing bills, write off's and transfers in accordance with the firms policies.

Duties

The following list of duties is not exhaustive but gives a indication of the main elements of the role ;

  • Checking proforma billing guides.
  • Raising bills in the firms practice management system in accordance with the firms policies.
  • Editing bills and returning to the business
  • Manage client specific billing arrangements
  • Liaising with partners, fee earners and PA's to resolve queries
  • Process time and disbursements write off's and transfers
  • Work closely with other members of the finance team on ad-hoc tasks

Knowledge, skills and experience required (bespoke to role)

  • Detailed knowledge of VAT rules in a legal environment (specifically relating to UK Land and EU VAT)
  • Knowledge of 'disbursements for VAT' as referred to by SRA.
  • Proven experience in communicating with people of all levels.
  • Willing to work additional hours at short notice as required.
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent IT skills, ideally gained within a professional services environment.
  • Previous working knowledge of Elite Enterprise preferred
  • A background of billing in a professional services environment
