Paralegal (12 month contract role) for LexisPSL Corporate and LexisPSL Competition teams

Key Responsibilities:

This is a split role working for both the LexisPSL Corporate and LexisPSL Competition teams.

Write, edit and update core content (under supervision), such as trackers, toolkits, resource notes, precedents, checklists, flowcharts, Q&As and training materials/new starter guides.

Take responsibility for co-ordinating current awareness output (working with the rest of the team and other parts of the business).

Prepare weekly highlights newsletter (based on the week's current awareness news stories).

Maintain 'horizon scanning' documents which track upcoming developments (in sync with daily news updates).

Manage social media presence.

Assisting with and attending Consulting Editorial Board meetings.

Prepare customer updates on latest content published.

Assist with updating and producing marketing materials.

Undertake general administrative tasks to support the effective running of the teams.

Support the work of the Market Tracker team in LexisPSL Corporate by undertaking the following activities:

Sourcing, managing, analysing and summarising public company deal information from third party news feeds and transaction documents

In-depth trend analysis of deal and market information

Writing current awareness pieces and summaries of market news and contacting practitioners for comment where appropriate

This could be suitable for someone who is going into a training contract

Specialist Knowledge / Skills Required:


Degree in law from England and Wales essential, although LPC qualification or equivalent desirable.

Demonstrate an interest in corporate and/or EU/competition law and practice, ideally through either work experience or as part of an academic course.

Confidence in dealing with queries - both from within the team and other areas of the business

Technical skills:

Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.

A working knowledge of legal research databases and an ability to undertake legal research in a wide range of areas of law and communicate findings clearly.

Excellent command of written English and general common sense.

Accurate proofing skills.

Interpersonal skills:

Ability to work alone as well as in a team.

Be able to see other people's points of view and take on board feedback.

Positive attitude and 'can-do' approach.

Personal skills:

Highly motivated and well organised.

Good time management skills.

Ability to prioritise a varied workload and co-ordinate work from a number of sources.

Excellent attention to detail

The ability to learn quickly and to assimilate complex information.

Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
