The School is currently rolling out a phased plan of iPad deployment and looking for some additional help from an apprentice in supporting both staff and pupils in their use within the classroom as well as their ongoing management as part of the School’s network.

Main duties:To assist in the maintenance and day to day support of the School’s ICT network and systems.Providing technical support to teaching staff using the IT equipment in particular in the use of iPads and Apps in the classroom but also including whiteboards, projectors and audio systems during lessons and to assist pupils, if directed by teaching staff.Assisting in the digital capture of lessons and subsequent editing and uploading requirements.Any other duties not listed above:

Comparable duties in support of the School’s network as skills and experience develop. The successful candidate will join a team of 3 current IT specialists in the School.Occasional evening/weekend working may be required to support events.Desired skills Experience/competence in the use of iPads and Apps.Knowledge/basic understanding of a network and the use of hardware (servers, switches etc) and software.Excellent communication skills.
Personal qualities Demonstrable interest in IT.Confidence – the role entails being able to work side by side with a teacher in a classroom environment.Willingness to work flexibly as a member of the wider IT Services team.
Desired qualifications Pass at GCSE in Maths and English.
Future prospects Potential for permanent employment, though no vacancy at present.

  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician
Working week 7.5 hours per day between 8.00am and 5.30pm, actual times TBC. Total hours per week: 37.50Weekly wage £187.50
