Our client is a successful Debt Purchase business sited on the outskirts of Leeds; due to expansion of the business they are looking for a Senior Data Protection & Compliance Manager to join their team.

Our client has grown substantially in recent years, winning many awards including Investor in Customers Silver Accreditation in late 2017 and more recently new investment has taken place, creating further opportunities for growth.

Excitingly, the client has rapidly established itself as a major player in the Debt Purchase sector over the past 8 years and is regarded as a highly respected organisation. Senior Data Protection & Compliance Manager Position Summary

You will be responsible for ensuring the business is fully compliant with General Data Protection Requirements, maintaining and managing policies, processes and procedures.

Your main tasks and activities will include:

  • Support the Head of Audit, Risk and Compliance in respect of wider compliance advice to the business;
  • Support the annual Compliance Monitoring plan;
  • Acting as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the organisation;
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for compliance & data protection requirements within the organisation providing advice and guidance;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all areas of the business are operating within ongoing GDPR requirements;
  • Advising on compliance with GDPR and local data protection laws, monitoring adherence to GDPR standards.

Person Specification

  • A – Levels or equivalent;
  • Previous experience in a similar Data Protection Compliance role;
  • Experience of managing projects with a focus on Data Protection;
  • Experience in Cyber Essentials or other Information Security accreditation;
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines;
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team;
  • Good IT & report writing skills with effective decision-making skills;
  • Be knowledgeable of quality standards and models;
  • Be knowledgeable of standards set by the FCA, ICO and other regulatory bodies.
  • Understanding of the consumer credit sector/CONC and working within the regulatory framework of the FCA.
