Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer

Salary: 65,000 + benefits

Location: Leeds

Job Spec:

A Leeds based company are looking to take on a Lead DevOps Engineer who will be an integral part of the company's cloud strategy.
Currently they have on premise VMware, but are just about to install cloud - you would be taking the lead on the planning, design and install of the solution.

You will report into the Head of Software Engineering, working closely with the development and infrastructure teams to deliver the infrastructure automation and containerisation solution.
You will be in charge of running the continuous delivery pipeline enabling consistent and regular deployments of code to production.

The Role: Provide architectural and technical guidance to Development and Infrastructure Take responsibility for ensuring test environments are representative of production Assist with automated testing of environments and software Co-ordinate and help with upgrades to Dev, test and production infrastructure Provide guidance for automated monitoring of production environments Develop a strategy and implement infrastructure automation across the in house developed application estate using cloud and relevant tools Develop a strategy and implement containerisation of workloads Identify technologies and tools that can streamline the processes , and POC them. You will be given the opportunity to experiment on a daily basis.
The skills needed: Strong Continuous Delivery pipeline skills is absolutely essential Cloud set-up and automation VMware (PowerCLI) and Microsoft OS (PowerShell) automation DNS, Networking, AD, Load balancers Understanding of containers and tools (i.e. Docker and Kubernetes) Ability to demonstrate the benefits of adopting a Devops culture Understanding of automated testing and monitoring technologies Source control with GIT
The Package:
Salary - 50,000 - 65,000 DOE
