Would you value the opportunity to train in a wide range of skills...? Do you want to be part of an innovative team, with an opportunity to work with Queens University on ‘Smart Roads’ research and development activity…? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

About the Role

We are looking for a Transport Planner / Associate with proven experience in Transport Planning and Traffic Assessments to join our team in Belfast working on Masterplan Developments across NI, Scotland, England, Wales and ROI, working on both public and private sector projects, undertaking traffic assessments and determining highway improvements, working with our innovative design teams to resolve problems. This is a vital analytical role that engages with design engineers using LinSig and Junction modelling tools. You will also be meeting with architects and planners and Roads Authorities and preparing traffic reports. This role would suit someone seeking a Senior Transport Planner role. Equally if you are a Senior Engineer/Planner now, then this could be your chance to join us as an Associate – just evidence the required skills and experience and the opportunity is yours!

About You

Suitable candidates will have a degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Mathematics or Civil Engineering and ideally be Chartered with CILT, CIHT, ICE, or IEI or equivalent. You will possess a minimum of 3 years’ Transport Planning experience in either the public or private sector, making traffic assessments and reviewing designs to determine requirement improvements. You need to be experienced in using LinSig and Junction and Signal modelling tools. Knowledge of Microsimulation tools would be advantageous too. You should demonstrate good attention to detail and possess excellent communication and report writing skills. You should also be very familiar with the standard NI documents for planning applications. Confidence is also required to enable you to discuss projects confidently and know what you are modelling. You should enjoy working independently using your analytical skills to accurately make traffic assessments and produce written reports, while still working as part of a team.
