Truly Global leading Manufacturer to the Oil and Gas / Nuclear industry seeks a Product Engineer (Junior product Engineers will also be considered) to contribute towards the success of the Company by ensuring that new or modified products for targeted markets are developed in a timely manner and are consistent with company objectives. To ensure that project related product testing is carried out in a planned and effective manner and support given to the productionisation process, to train, assist and support Advisory Technicians in their technical support duties, and to provide global technical support for customers.To introduce systems and processes associated with the role that complies with both Company policy and accepted legislation.

Duties will include:

Assist with the development and design of new products for specific market applications, working closely with the Materials Development Group when new materials are required, Test Group for product validation, the Production Team to ensure effective productionisation and Sales to ensure commercial viability.You will also be expected to provide technical support for enquires, material recommendations and operating conditions, both to internal and external customers. This may require occasional customer visits as required. To be aware of the interrelationship between the technical and commercial aspects of a Customer focused project. To give advice on seal application and fitting. Support NPD (New Product Development) as required to update on projects where you are the Leader. Under guidance of a Senior Product Engineer, provide conceptual and final designs of sealing solutions for customer and NPD projects, prepare and maintain Design Files in accordance with the quality system, working to relevant procedures such as BS EN 9001: 2008. Prepare drawings to a high standard.To assist in the preparation of material specifications for new or existing products. To assist in the preparation of product literature. Where necessary seek advice on manufacture capability. To investigate seal failures, provide reports and recommend/implement corrective and preventative action, in accordance with the appropriate company procedures.To train Advisory Technicians on products, attributes and application, and to assist and support them in their technical development.To recognise and interpret International, National, Customer and Company specifications. To produce and assist in the production of technical material and data for the use employees, e.g. product application guides etc.To provide guidance such that Sales Team colleagues understand and observe all applicable Company Technical and quality policies, rules and procedures, and to set a good personal example in their observance. Participate in cross functional teams (including Product Engineers, Test Engineers, Process Engineers) in delivering sealing solutions to customers problemsTo support Quality Department in the preparation of Product, Design and Inspection specifications for new and existing products.The ideal candidate will be educated to degree, HND or HNC level in a relevant Engineering discipline (or equivalent / relevant apprenticeship)have good generic CAD Design experience with the ability to read and create Engineering drawings.
