Medical Service Engineer

An exciting opportunity for a Medical Service Engineer to join a leading, established medical device / instrumentation design and manufacturing company.

The Medical Service Engineer will carry out servicing, commissioning, installations, telephone and email support to all types of medical, ophthalmic equipment.

Performance Measures

  • To carry out in-house repairs on various ophthalmic products including tonometer's.
  • Commissioning of new sales equipment.
  • To provide telephone and email support to customers and the sales team.
  • Checking and testing demo stock equipment.
  • Attending breakdowns and installations when required.

  • IT skills, including PC repairs (hardware and software), re-installing windows operating systems, configuration of PC's, Networking etc.

  • Customer care skills.

Key Tasks

  • Attending breakdowns and installations when cover is needed. (UK Wide)
  • Provide customer telephone and email support at all times.
  • Provide back-up cover for in-house service engineers when required.
  • Complete all service documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a professional image for the company at all times.
  • Attend and actively participate in all departmental meetings.
  • Participate in both in-house and external training courses to improve product and technical knowledge.
  • Carry out training when required for colleagues and customers.
  • Assist with exhibitions when required.
  • Carry out additional duties as and when required to ensure the smooth operation of the Service Dept at all time.
  • To be aware of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and to ensure that any hazards and/or accidents are reported to a Health and Safety Representative as appropriate and to be aware of safety issues throughout the company.

Full UK Driving Licence required

Salary Guide: circa £27,000

Location: Harlow, Essex
