Graduate role in Birmingham secondary school; ideal for graduates considering teaching in the future
Are you a graduate looking for a rewarding role that provides endless variety?
Are you due to graduate this summer and thinking about your next move?
Are you passionate about changing the lives of young people?
Have you considered a career in teaching?
Hays Education places hundreds of graduates into roles in schools every year for them to gain invaluable experience in the classroom and build their curriculum and teaching knowledge. Many of our graduate coaches go on to apply for teacher training places and are successfully placed as teachers in the schools we work with.
A role as a graduate coach or mentor typically means working with small groups of students to improve their achievement levels in predominantly Maths, English or Science. You will be fully supported by the school, but also have the opportunity to work independently and creatively. You will need to passionate about your subject and able to engage with young people. This support is critical to improving the outcomes and choices for young people, who often come from challenging backgrounds or who find certain subjects more difficult. Students may have additional or special educational needs, or emotional challenges or simply might be more talented in other subjects. Either way your support is crucial to their success and their futures.
These roles are typically full time, term time only and are perfect for those who want to build their confidence and understanding before making the final decision and financial commitment to train to teach. You will ideally need to have some experience of tutoring, peer mentoring, volunteering or working with young people in an Education setting in the last two years. You will be fully supported with other mandatory safe-guarding training for free by Hays Education.
