Endoscopy Nurse / Deputy Team Leader


£22,000 - £32,000 depending on experience

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Endoscopy Nurse or Senior Nurse looking for a step up to join a friendly team. The Endoscopy suite is JAG accredited and handles a range of Endoscopy procedures.

You will be working within an Endoscopy suite that provides planned care for patients requiring endoscopy procedures which includes colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, flexible cystoscopy and other minor day cases and will be able to provide clinical and professional leadership to the Endoscopy Team whilst promoting the safe guarding, well-being and interest of all patients, consultants, employees and visitors within the Endoscopy suite.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work with an experienced team deputising in the Team Leaders absence (Deputy Team Leader role).
  • To provide exemplary planned care for patients.
  • Ensure the team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership
  • Develop and improve services and quality
  • Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices
  • Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members and to liaise with other departments
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
  • Undertake Human Resource activities for all team members including regular performance and annual reviews (Deputy Team Leader role)

Qualifications and training:

  • Essential - Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
  • Desirable - Experience in leading a team (Deputy Team Leader role)
  • Essential - Experience working within Endoscopy

  • Dedicated to the provision of delivering first class patient care
  • Enthusiastic and driven
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Communication and influencing
  • Concern for standards
  • Willing to participate in a flexible working pattern (37.5 Hours per week on a shift rota within a 6-day period)
  • Competence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge
  • Possess mandatory training requirements including infection control and health and safety competencies
  • Maximising people and financial resources whilst maintaining a safe clinical environment (Deputy Team Leader role)

Desirable for Deputy Team Leader:

  • Business Development skills
  • Root cause analysis
