We’re looking for a Digital Designer to join a market leading, multi-channel retail business in Gloucester. With 20 years in the business, over 20 stores in the UK and a strong eCommerce offering this is a great opportunity. This business prides itself on doing everything in-house from production to design and coding and has fantastic retention rates amongst staff.

What you’ll be doing

The Digital Designer will sit amongst the existing brand team and work alongside the Senior Designer, PR specialists, Photographer and report in to the Head of Brand. The role will work closely with the IT and eCommerce teams as these will be important relationships.

As the Digital Designer your work will cover a few key areas including: UI (user interface) design, email design, landing pages and advertising / promotional assets. You will be required to help on print projects from time to time but the focus is ultimately digital. Working on eCommerce and transactional designs the Digital Designer will interpret data from the conversions team to improve user experiences and enhance the websites performance. There’s a great opportunity to push the digital offering of this business whilst you track, measure and improve your designs using insight from the conversions team.

What experience you’ll need

As this is a digital role we’ll need to see responsive web projects, email designs, landing pages and digital advertising examples in the portfolio. You’ll need to be well experienced in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and we’d expect the right person to have some understanding of HTML, CSS and JQUERY; these are important skills as when making improvements to the website you’ll need to prototype (to a basic level) your designs. Prototypes of buttons or particular user journeys will then be handed to the development team to code into fully functioning web pages and assets so you certainly won’t need to be a developer yourself.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

In return for your talents you’ll join a business that looks after it’s people, the team has a fantastic retention rate and strong culture to keep good people. As a business they pride themselves on doing everything in-house from production, photography, marketing, design and coding so you can be sure you’ll get real investment from the business and team around you to deliver great work. There’s a company bonus, staff discount, subsidised café, gym and free parking.
