Are you a talented English teacher who has the ability and desire to teach in a highly academic high school.

The school boasts a list of highly successful former pupils that have helped shape the United Kingdom and there continued success is wholly down to the outstanding teaching staff within the school.

A teacher of English is required to join an outstanding English teacher. GCSE results for the school currently run at 100% A-C grades and a majority of the students at this school will take up English at AS and A2 level.

The English curriculum at all key stages strives to foster a real enjoyment of the English Literary Heritage. During KS3, pupils study one class reader each half term to support the development of skills related to the three areas of the National Curriculum: Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening. Stimulating and challenging activities are covered both in class and are set as homework, including: creative writing of prose and poetry; exploring fiction and non-fiction texts; debating key issues; crafting pieces of writing for a specific purpose and audience and comparing texts to film adaptations. Our most popular KS3 units include: 'An Introduction to Studying Literature' in Year 7; 'Text to Screen' in Year 8 and 'Shakespeare's Themes' in Year 9. At GCSE, all students study both English and English Literature from the Edexcel GCSE specification. At A Level students are offered English Literature from the OCR A-level specification.

Excellent U.K and overseas trained teachers are invited to apply for the post with subject knowledge, passion for English and the ability to deliver outstanding lessons as the key requirements of the post.
