SEN Teacher Person Specification
To be successful in your application you must be a resilient SEN Teacher who has worked with SEN pupils before and ideally have at least 2 years' teaching experience. The school wants to recruit someone who has an unique positive attitude towards teaching and learning, and a nominal yet exciting teaching method. The ideal individual should be able to ensure class work is set at the correct levels for pupils of low ability. You must show the ability to own the classroom with your amazing creativeness. You will need experience and training in ASD, and restraint training, e.g. Team Teach or MAPA.
About the SEN Teacher Role
In this SEN Teacher post you will be teaching in the resource base for Autism, this centre is extremely well staffed so you will be well supported and working with inspirational SEN Teachers and LSAs. The pupils in this centre are mixed ages but working at EYFS level, there are 8 pupils within this unit and 4 staff. A large part of this department's success can be attributed to its holistic teaching style, where pupils progress in so much more than academia alone. Your duties will include flourishing under the mentorship of a designated 'Outstanding' teacher who will be taking an active role in your development at every stage . You will be teaching with the support of a warm and bubbly Teaching Assistant who will help you prepare and deliver your lessons. In this post you will be teaching with the latest school resources, including visual sensory rooms, giving you a modern and dynamic setting in which to deliver exceptional lessons. You will have the responsibility of complementing your duties with the help of top resources including multiple sensory rooms, which pupils respond especially well to. You will have the responsibility of using the schools excellent resources, such as bright, airy classrooms in order to create an exciting learning environment.
