Housing Medical Assessment Officer required permanently to start immediately with a competitive salary.

Your new company
This well-known not - for - profit organisation with a large number of properties across the Manchester area. The organisation is now recruiting for a Housing Assessment Officer based on a permanent basis to start immediately.

Your new role
Your new role will be very customer focused, you will be working with all types Housing options service across the Manchester area. The role is varied and not limited, on a day to day basis you will be dealing with different types of customers. You will be speaking to customer who will need a medical assessment before or after moving in to their new home. You will be responsible for visiting both children and adults at home or in hospital to carry out the assessments prior to moving home. You will then match suitable tenants to the adapted properties.

In addition to this you will deal with providing advice to customer, tenants and families regarding carers, rehousing allocations as well as any independent living information for the elderly. You also deal with application for adoptions to homes for Tenants. You will carry out viewings ensuring the adaptions are suitable for the tenants. The role isn't limited and you will be reviewing cases on regular basis you will be working in and around the community a lot and will not be office based as much.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a highly experienced staff nurse or occupational therapist with a background in housing. You must have a nursing qualification such as RGN or EN and two years post-registration experience or a diploma/degree in occupational therapy or physiotherapy with 2 years' experience.
The right candidate needs to be someone who is personable can build rapport and empathise. You will need to be someone who can work unsupervised, flexible and can work under pressure. You will need to have DBS and have a full driving license and car.
