Computing and ICT are extremely popular at KS2, KS3 as well as for GCSE options. Students begin learning how to code in KS2 and this is developed throughout all year groups with the use of various block and text based languages. At GCSE students can either opt to study Computing or ICT.

The school is well equipped with an excellent network infrastructure, modern hardware and the most recent applications, all set within beautiful grounds. Investment in IT around school has been vast in recent years and the school is keen to regularly invest in order to keep the learning environment in line with modern computing expectations.

The School offers small class sizes with students who are eager to learn and where behaviour is exemplary.

The successful candidate will be well supported in leading a successful department in developing the computing curriculum across a range of year groups.

Our idea candidate will have the following characteristics:

- a strong classroom practitioner

- experience of teaching computing and ICT across a range of year groups.

- an expert in the use of IT with experience of both windows and IOS based platforms.

- work well in a busy environment and as part of a team

- committed to achieving the very highest of professional and academic standards.

- Be confident in support staff with technical issues at times.

The ability to teach GCSE Graphic Products or the willingness to develop this aspect of the curriculum further would be an advantage.

The current post holder is also responsible for managing the school’s network and for promoting the use and knowledge of ICT through staff training. He also manages the school’s tracking data. There is the possibility of the network manager’s role becoming a separate job to the teaching role.

First and foremost the school is seeking a passionate teacher of ICT and Computing. The post would be suitable for a well-qualified and strong NQT.
