Junior Press Officer – In house
Want to work for one of the largest and most influential automotive trade associations in the UK? Our client is currently looking for a Junior Press Officer to join their friendly team. This role would suit an ambitious and dynamic individual looking to further their career within a leading automotive association. Your role will consist of both traditional Press Officer duties, such as liaising with member companies, stakeholders and internal departments, as well as having a digital spin; promoting the association through digital and social media channels. As Junior Press Officer, your responsibilities will include: Promoting a positive public profile through media relations, coverage and events. Building and maintaining positive media relationships. Supporting the team in the delivery of media activity and events, including compiling media lists, pitching stories, administrating media attendance for events, and formatting and distributing releases and images/videos. Producing and managing the timely distribution of SMMT’s weekly newsletter, identifying relevant news stories and images and writing engaging newsletter content. A successful candidate will have: An understanding of automotive issues, the national news agenda and public affairs First-class written and verbal English skills Strong interpersonal abilities and the ability to forge and maintain relationships Prior experience/knowledge of Wordpress-based websites, SEO and social media This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a passionate and global team.
