Who will I be working with?

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service helps to protect the people of North Wales, including the hundreds of thousands of tourists and visitors who come to the region every year. The Service employs almost 1,000 people, who support the attendance of around 3,200 fires, 500 road traffic collisions and 500 other emergency incidents annually.

So, what will this role of Corporate Planning and Performance Analyst entail?

As the Corporate Planning and Performance Analyst, you'll be supporting the Corporate/Deputy Planning Manager to deliver the Service's corporate planning framework, including strategic and risk reduction planning. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

* Supporting the delivery of effective systems to measure and improve performance against service objectives and support operational delivery

* Providing research and analytical advice and support across the Service

* Providing quality assurance of data and performance information to ensure accuracy and integrity of data

* Presenting complex information and providing performance reports to support the strategic management of the Service

* Contribute to the ongoing development of systems relating to performance information and assist with ensuring compatibility of information between systems used to improve service delivery

What will I need in order to be considered for this Corporate Planning and Performance Analyst vacancy?

* Either educated to degree level in Business / Administration / IT (or similar), or have proven experience within a similar analyst role

* Ability to assimilate large volumes of data for conversion to useable information, identifying trends as well as discrepancies

* Superb research skills, with the ability to evaluate and interpret results effectively to inform decision making

* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of service users and partners

* IT literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (pivot tables and formulas)

* High level of attention to detail, with a proactive and self-motivated approach

* Highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload effectively

* A full valid driving licence and willingness to travel as required

Although not essential, technical knowledge of Crystal Reports (SAP), Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and GIS / Geo Mapping software would be highly advantageous.

Applications are particularly welcome from those who are able to speak and write in Welsh, whilst this is not essential you will be required to achieve a basic level of Welsh speaking and listening skills by the end of your probationary period.

What will I receive in return?

Salary: £23,866 per annum, rising incrementally to at least £26,999.
