MacIntyre School is a vibrant residential school for children with autism and severe learning disabilities, situated in the pretty village of Wingrave, Buckinghamshire, between Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard. There are currently around 40 pupils.
We are currently recruiting for a Food Technician to come and work in the kitchen at the school. This position is a Fixed Term Contact (FTC) until the 31 July 2018 (End of School Term). 22.5 hours per week 9.30am -2pm Monday to Friday term time only.
About the Role
You'll be working as a Food Technician in the school kitchen preparing the meals for 10 of the pupils who eat lunch on site. You will also be providing hospitality catering when there is an event at the school; managing the stocks and equipment ensuring it is all kept in order.
You will make sure the kitchen is kept clean and orderly, and can be used by students as required, when you'll be supporting them in their activities. You will also comply with relevant UK legislation regarding food preparation, as well as MacIntyre policy and procedures. You will work with other members of the staff team, attending meetings when needed and contribute to the overall aims and targets of MacIntyre school.

Every student is provided with an individual programme of learning which is focused on practical activities and is designed to make the most of their potential. Some of this learning takes place in small groups in the classroom while other activities take place in the community. On site we offer excellent facilities for our students and a dedicated team of education, social, health and therapy professionals.
Our students can present with behaviour that is challenging, and in some circumstances you may be required to provide personal care. Full training is given in these areas.

You will have some experience of the Catering industry and any work you have done within an educational establishment or with people who have learning disabilities would be a major advantage. You will also need the relevant certificates which can be presented for inspection at interview.
It would be helpful if you hold a full UK manual driving licence and your own transport due to the school's rural location.
