Electrical Maintenance Engineer

TM Resourcing Technical Division are currently recruiting for our well established packaging company based in Manchester.

An exciting position has now become available, my client are seeking an experienced electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join their team, working on rotating days/nights' shift (or permanent nights).

The successful candidate will be, as part of the engineering team, expected to:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager to produce and update a maintenance schedule enabling visibility of planned work and progress

  • Ensure the planned and reactive maintenance work is conducted safely, efficiently and within budget

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the Engineering Department

  • Maintain an optimum level of component parts on site to reduce potential down time

  • Carry out preventative planned maintenance and servicing, recording all findings and with minimum impact on productivity

  • As and when required, respond to 'out of hours' calls and comply with the Engineer Call Out procedure

  • Ensure the premises are secure at all times when on a night shift

  • Resolve all emergency/ad-hoc repairs and make a recommendation to prevent a reoccurrence, escalating as necessary

  • Conduct all safety critical checks required on site in accordance with relevant legislation and report completion of checks to the Operations Manager

  • Responsible for the calibration of equipment in accordance with legislation and maintenance schedule

  • Conduct the weekly fire alarm check and record test results

  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Planned Preventative Maintenance on machinery, equipment and building to be undertaken, plus any machinery installations and servicing.

  • Maintain and uphold engineering qualifications, share best and inventive practice with the engineering department

You will be an individual that has good time management and organisation skills, works well under pressure and can prioritise effectively to meet time critical deadlines.
