My client are an established and fast growing property group that offer services within the UK residential property market including block & estate management and surveying. They are looking for a personable professional with good man management skills to take up a Head of Accounts role reporting in to the FD. The successful applicant will be overseeing the day to day duties of the client accounts function at their centralised team in Hertfordshire.

Key Objectives:

* To take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property accounts function, and ensure it delivers an exemplary level of service
* To monitor and Control the annual workload
* To ensure all deadlines are met
* To setup and use control sheets and diary notes
* To establish procedures and processes to produce efficiencies in the way the accounts department functions, and produce cost savings
* To assist the Board in growing the business through regular reporting and ad hoc projects
* To manage and motivate the accounts team
* To deliver the highest possible professional service to all our customers
* To maximise the efficiencies available from our property management and other software packages

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

* Monitoring and motivating a growing team, currently 13 people
* To action all client correspondence within rigid timescales, and immediately bring to the attention of the Directors any contentious matters
* To attend client meetings as and when required, including outside working hours
* To liaise and work closely with the Head of Management to ensure that all deadlines requiring input from the Management Department are met
* Training
* Staff appraisals
* Regular reporting to the Board for management accounting purposes

General Duties:

* To manage a growing team, currently 13
* Monitoring the performance of staff in their day-to-day duties
* Regular team meetings
* Maintaining systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of all regular transactions
* Regular reporting to the Board/Managing Director

Experience (Essential):

* Must be a qualified accountant
* A proven track record of running an accounts department in the property management sector
* Demonstrable managerial and leadership skills
* Willing to take full responsibility, and to be accountable for, the implementation and control of established and new accounting procedures
* Able to meet deadlines, every time!
* Must be fully computer literate and conversant with Word and Excel
* Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
* A confident and positive approach to customer service
* Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Enthusiasm and flexibility
* Good organisational and problem solving skills
* Must enjoy being part of a team

Experience (Desirable):

* Experience of Qube/ECS property management software
* Experience of working in a small team and / or small organisation
