Senior Project Manager

Henley - Up to £75,000

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing significant projects (e.g., strategic change management, new business and product initiatives, process re-engineering, establishment of control procedures). Sometimes referred to as internal consultants, typically work on multi-disciplinary projects and require a broad knowledge of the firm and its key functions. Use knowledge of the PMO development methodology to monitor and ensure completion of projects on schedule. These projects require full time commitment and are not undertaken by staff having other operating responsibilities. Strong quantitative, analytic and project management skills are required.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

*Manage medium/large sized projects through a complete project lifecycle
*Oversee the delivery of one or more work streams within a program
*Oversee the delivery of several small/medium sized projects
*Adhere to the PMO project methodology
*Define Project Charter (e.g. project objectives, scope and deliverables) and validate alignment with business and system strategies
*Lead reviews of requirements and designs with relevant stakeholders to obtain agreement and sign off
*Create estimates of effort, costs and timescales for proposed projects and take responsibility for managing against these estimates
*Assist in prioritization/phasing of project deliverables
*Secure and coordinate the necessary resources for a project by working with appropriate line managers including any vendor or third party resources
*Develop and manage communications plans supporting the project; including but not limited, to status reporting, management of issues and risks
*Scope/Change management
*Orderly close-out of project, including, but not limited to, conducting Sponsor Satisfaction Survey and 'lessons learnt' as appropriate
*Supervise day-to-day work of project team
*Lead and motivate staff on the project team
*Key contributor to the continuous improvement and development of the PMO project methodology
*Contributor to the ongoing development of the PMO book of business
*May supervise day-to-day work and coaching of less senior PMO staff members, but will not have a formal staff management role

Work Experience / Knowledge:
*7 years experience managing projects including responsibility for the whole project life cycle
*Mifid and regulations knowledge
*Ideally, will have managed multi-discipline projects and/or phases of projects with teams of up to 10 people and of a minimum length of 9 months
*Expert practitioner of PMO project methodology
*Broad knowledge of systems and business processes in at least one business area
*Ideally, will have had experience of negotiating with external parties / suppliers
*People management experience
*Proficient user of the Microsoft suite of products, including Project and Office

*Excellent written communication skills (to include process flowcharting, and formal business solutions documents)
*Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
*Able to influence and build relationships at all levels internally and externally

Formal Education:
*A Bachelor's Degree, Graduate or Graduate Caliber, or equivalent qualification is preferred
License / Registration / Certification:
*Formal project management training and/or qualification (i.e. PMI PMP certificate) preferred.
