Software Support / 1st Line Technical Support

Location: St. Ives, Cornwall
Salary: £18-20K/year, depending on experience
Employment Status: Full-Time, permanent.

Tempest Photography is one of the country's largest photographic companies, employing over 800 members of staff across the UK. From our headquarters located in beautiful St. Ives, Cornwall, we operate Europe's largest, most advanced photographic laboratory.

We are looking for a software support representative to provide both office-based and field-based software support to our customers.

Core responsibilities of Software Support / 1st Line Technical Support:

Office-based telephone/email support:
* Provide first line technical support, assisting external customers with software packages deployed at their institution
* Liaise with external customers to oversee the import of data into software systems
* Liaise with internal stakeholders on the development of new and enhancement of existing software packages

Field-based support:
* Travel to institutions throughout the UK to set up required system(s)
* Perform site-visits throughout the UK as required
* Instruct staff at events on how to use the software system(s)

* Experience of installing, configuring, testing and implementing software applications preferred
* Ability to adapt and understand new technologies as well as having strong analytical skills
* Effective time management skills; with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously requiring experience with prioritising tasks due to shifting priorities, fluctuating workloads, and deadline pressures
* Able to travel around the UK (approximately 20% of time will be spent in the field)
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and problem solving skills.
