Project Engineer (powertrain) you will assist in delivering projects for the Client and support the programme management team to develop efficient and effective processes.

Project Engineer Requirements:

Degree qualified, from an engineering or science related background.

Some programme management experience, in an automotive or engineering industry.

Highly motivated, organised and approachable person.

A minimum of 3 years experience.

Ability to work across functional engineering teams with an enthusiasm and passion to successfully assist in delivering projects to meet the performance objectives.

Strong numeracy, literacy and logic with great communication, interpersonal and people skills.

Generate continuous improvement ideas to develop the project management processes and procedures.

Some experience of working in an engineering project environment.

Experience of working with a Lean Product Development Process and an understanding of the lean principles.

Experience of working through the full life cycle from concept to launch of a new product introduction.

Project Engineer Role:

Working with the team in project planning and reporting, forecasting and tracking spend against budgets, resource planning, risk and change management, focal point for the projects and communications.

Help to coordinate the activities of the cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Be involved in project reviews and communications.

Production of project status and progress reports.

Coordinating and liaising with the purchasing and manufacturing teams to support development of the project cost model.

Help to coordinate the project supply base to ensure quality of design, manufacture and test of the hardware for the projects.

Continuous improvement activities to develop and evolve the project management processes and procedures.

Travel to suppliers and headquarters when required (Minimal travel.
