Lead Software Engineer (£75,000 + Bonus + Benefits)

Location: Richmond, London, UK

A leading ecommerce company is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the recommendations team. They build matching services through search, recommendations, graph based querying and the power of data to seamlessly connect seven million Exhibitors and Buyers at events every year.

You will lead a collaborative, cross-functional team and partner closely with the Product Owner and Product Director to determine technical solutions and ensure operational excellence.

Experience/skills required:
  • Delivery Team Lead experience in an agile environment practicing XP methodology with strong exposure to Scrum, DevOps & CALMS cultures
  • Full Sack Developer background with a proven track record of developing loosely coupled solutions (SOLID Principles, TDD + Pair Programming, BDD)
  • Expert in developing ASP.NET/C# (dotnetcore an advantage) applications, windows services and Restful WebApis
  • Solid experience developing large scale search and graph based technologies (such as ElasticSearch, Directed Edge, Algolia, Neo4J)
  • Experienced with Domain Modelling, DDD, CQRS, Event Storming, Event Driven Architectures and message Queues (such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
  • At ease with troubleshooting in complex environments through experience using monitoring and logging tools (such as AppDynamics, NewRelic, Splunk, Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Demonstrable skills in maintaining and improving CI/CD processes, using build tools, artefact repositories, PowerShell scripting, IIS configurations and canary/blue-green deployments

  • A polyglot, confident to develop the full stack from through multiple application tiers
  • Experience of modern JavaScript frameworks such as (Angular.JS or React.JS) and Node.JS
  • Cloud and network aware with AWS Experience and knowledge of Load Balancers, Proxy Servers, DNS and CDNs
  • Experience with software performance optimization and knowledgeable of .NET concurrent programming
