JOB TITLE: Duty Officer
LOCATION: Lincolnshire
SALARY: £7.75 - £8.00 per hour + statutory holiday pay

QRS is working on behalf of an established Further Education College within the Lincolnshire area and is looking for a Duty Officer to work at 2 sites within Stamford.

Job purpose
To provide cover for the day to day running of Borderville Sports Centre and satellite facilities on a rota system ensuring the efficient operation of the centre. The work is predominantly evenings and weekends, but may include some other shifts. The duty officer will be responsible for the safety, conduct and security of staff and customers as well as overseeing the grounds, building and its contents.

Job Description
•Provide excellent customer service
Maintain a high profile within the Centre during opening times and respond positively to customer needs, expectations and comments, demonstrating excellent standards of service for both internal and external customers.
•Dealing with enquiries and take bookings by phone, email, in person and through the post
•Deputise for the Borderville Development Manager and support the general function of the Sports Centre.
•Undertake cash and transaction reconciliation and ensure cash security is maintained and financial procedures are complied with.
•Ensuring the safety and security of the public, customers, staff, equipment and the building, including control of entry.
•Ensure the highest level of health, safety, safeguarding and hygiene are observed at all times.
•Erect and dismantling of equipment/furniture as required by the individual bookings and the programme of events in liaison with the Borderville Development Manager and SAFC. Ensure equipment is functional and in safe working order
•Ensure the cleanliness of the building particularly, before, during and after events
•Cleaning to support the professional cleaning team
•Undertake minor maintenance as and when required in liaison with the Property Manager
•Management of the Centre’s environmental controls to achieve targeted reduction in carbon footprint and to maintain a comfortable working environment
•Undertaking H&S safety checks including the testing of the fire alarm system.
•Undertake administration of memberships and bookings
•Manage contractors and deliveries
•Manage and control accidents and emergencies.
•Act as Duty First Aider.
•To maintain quality standards appropriate to the post.
•To work flexibly to meet agreed deadlines and targets, as and when required.
•To cover any of the core functions within the Centre and to carry out other such duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the post.
