This UK division for a global distributor, with offices in Luton, is seeking to appoint an experienced senior account manager to spearhead the growth and management of its national account sales operation, delivering profitable growth across the region

Working closely with the wider sales and marketing team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll be adept at preparing strategic plans for the development of an existing national retail business and possess demonstrable experience of successfully managing high profile accounts

As National Account Manager, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Achieving agreed sales targets, with a focus on margin and efficiencies
• Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities
• Contract negotiation and management
• Analysis and reporting
• Collaborating with the marketing team to deliver relevant campaigns
• Managing, coaching and mentoring sales and merchandising staff where required
• Building effective working relationships with the wider business teams (customer services and warehousing etc.)

A highly experienced senior retail based sales professional, you’ll be a confident leader, with a proactive ‘can-do’ approach, an analytical mind and excellent all-round communication and presentation skills. The ability to nurture and develop strong internal relationships with other business functions is also essential, as is the confidence and skill required to identify sales opportunities with existing accounts and open new ones.

As National Account Manager, national travel will be involved as required.

On offer in return is a basic starting salary of c£45,000 - £50,000 per annum (negotiable subject to experience), along with a bonus (to 30%), pension, life assurance and 25 days annual holiday entitlement and other benefits.
