Sheridan Blake Executive Search are a Specialist Automotive Recruitment Solution and are currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a Global Automotive Tier 1 Manufacturer.

The successful Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for verifying incoming goods conformance to specification. To ensure correct operation of Goods Inward Quality process. To maintain QMS requirements as defined in Company documentation.
Key Activities -
*To administer Goods Inward Quality Function and to maintain Goods Inward Quality database.
*To check delivered, or other, parts against defined specifications.
*To administer Supplier Concern reporting system. Including raising, issuing, progressing and reviewing Supplier 8D reports.
*To conduct Supplier, and internal, Product & Process Audits as defined in schedules, or as required following non-conformity incidents.
*To manage Goods Inward Performance monitors, reporting effectiveness of system to Quality Manager
*Supporting the team - Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives, assist Supplier Quality Engineer and other personnel as required
*Knowledge of FMEA, Control Plan and 8D methodologies would be advantageous
*Some travel may be required within the defined Role
*Overtime working, as and when required, is expected
*Ensure all employees comply with the requirements of the Company Handbook
*To ensure all department procedures and SOP's are adhered to
*To maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in the department
*Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements
*Provide a courteous response to internal and external customer's requests and make every effort to respond quickly and efficiently. Clear verbal and written communication is required
*To ensure that all Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety legislation are adhered to
*To ensure all department procedures are adhered to
*To maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in the department
*Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements
*To demonstrate adherence to the Lander Automotive 5s working philosophy
*Any other duties that may be required to support the needs of the department or business.

Education -
HND in engineering or equivalent.

Experience/Skills -
Basic understanding of Engineering Drawings and measuring equipment. Computer literacy. Clear written & verbal communication. Minimum 3 years automotive background, TS16949, System knowledge, Root cause analysis, 8D problem solving ability, APQP trained, customer involvement requiring excellent written and verbal skills, full UK driving licence. In addition, a Lean/Six Sigma background, TS16949 Auditor qualified,

General Design and Tolerance and Metal Forming processes knowledge. Experience in following correctly and consistently PPAP, Capability Studies, R & R Studies.

Leadership -
Will not have direct reports but will be responsible for ensuring that they guide and direct other team members within the business to reduce/eliminate quality issues. Ensuring Company Policy and Procedures are adhered to.

Accountability -
The position will be accountable for ensuring a good quality of work and service to all relevant departments and targets should be met and maintained. Must ensure that Supplier Quality issues are investigated thoroughly as there are potential financial losses for gross errors. High standards of housekeeping and visual management.

Complexity -
This position will be governed by Company Procedures, Goals and Objectives related to Quality standards. The candidate should possess the ability to understand, review and improve processes as appropriate.

Confidentiality -
This role does have access to sensitive and confidential information. Need to understand relevant information and to use discretion when passing on information received.

Meeting Deadlines/Pressure of Work -
The position will require deadlines to be met consistently, by good pre-planning ample time should prevail, situations may arise which will increase the pressure. This should be shared with other relevant individuals as identified.
