Our client based in Aston Clinton are seeking a Purchasing Assistant, reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will carry out all duties within the Purchasing Department. You must be flexible in your approach to your duties and able to prioritise your workload, demonstrate effective communication and act as a team player.
Assist with the inputting of both Purchase Orders and Invoices into the Accounts/ERP system
Chase up Purchase Order deliveries/problems with suppliers by telephone or email
Discuss invoice problems with suppliers i.e. notify suppliers of any discrepancies
Assist, time permitting, with stock control movements within the two computer systems mentioned above
General administration duties
Whilst full training will be provided, the following skills are advantageous:
Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as use of an Accounts Package (Access Dimensions & Emax RM6 ERP System)
Good Communication: you will be expected to speak with suppliers or communicate through email to discuss invoice queries and chase up Purchase Order deliveries/problems
Previous experience within a Purchasing role or similar
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
A good level of education including Mathematics and English
Hours of work:
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (37.5 hour week) or 09:00 - 17:00 (40 hour week) (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
£16,575pa based on 37.5 hour week or £17,680 based on 40 hour week
