Resident Team Leader

Location: Newark

Salary £32500 with Company Vehicle, 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays, Contributory Pension Scheme, Additional Overtime, Life Cover

Working hours are Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 4.30pm Core Hours, Time and Half paid for additional hours.

The company are one of the leading Materials Handling businesses in the UK. They have sites all over the UK and work with some of the country's leading brands.

One of their largest sites in the Newark area now requires a Site Team Leader to supervise/support their engineers. This position would suit an Experienced Plant Fitter, HGV Technician who has experience in managing a small team of Technicians or Engineers

Responsibilities:

Servicing/Repairs material handling equipment, wrapping machines, and access platforms on site.

Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensure all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct.

Ensure LSS & all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers.

Ensure servicing & WIP are kept up to date.

Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner.

Report any unsafe practices or potential hazards immediately.

To maintain familiarization with company policies & procedures & adhere to these. E.g. IT Policy, absence policy etc.

To attend training courses to maintain up to date knowledge of equipment.

Liaise direct with customer to maintain maximum MHE up time & customer satisfaction.

To schedule/issue tasks to team members and track to completion.

Assist team members with prioritizing workload.

Liaise with STR controller and assist with management of STR fleet on site.

Ensure that records relating to VOR machines, battery repairs, and battery topping are kept up to date and circulated to relevant people.

Carry out/record regular workshop audits and promote a best in class approach.

Attend review meetings with customer/Contract Management.

In conjunction with the CM STR team oversee the peak fleet process installation and off hire.

To promote best practice and lead by example.

Carry out risk assessments on all work processes and & develop safe working practices in accordance with current health and safety legislation

To provide technical support and escalation for resident engineers.

Carry out a continuous quality audit plan to monitor product quality, performance and improvement levels.

To assist in the management of all resources to ensure they are fully utilised and achieving full potential.

To deal in the first instance with staff issues within the resident site, as and when required

To conduct the following processes as part of on site Management

- Site engineer Performance reviews
- Return to work interviews
- Absence Management
- Disciplinary investigations

Support the development of engineers through practical training and mentoring.

Undertake additional training and/or qualifications provided by the client

Make your line manager aware of any site developments or changes in customer needs.

Requirements:

- Experienced working at a leadership level, supervising a small team of engineers.
- Experience in Diesel Engines, Hydraulics, Diagnostics preferred
- Site experience preferred
- NVQ Level 2 minimum required in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent in City & Guilds
- Excellent Customer facing skills with the ability to work in challenging environments and be able to establish long term relationships with customers.
- Be competent in the Maintenance and Diagnostics of either HGV's, Trucks, cars, Vans, FLT or Cherry Pickers
- Be competent in Microsoft Office
