Title: AutoCAD Technician

Sector: New Architectural Glass and Glass Media Systems

Salary: To £35,000 plus benefits

Location: Oxford

Our client is an innovative technology company which is opening its European division. The company produces market leading architectural glass media products and we are looking for a talented AutoCAD Technician with 3 – 6 years of post-qualification experience. This is a pre-sales role in which you will be supporting the creation of proposals with detailed 3D simulations of potential implementations.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role the AutoCAD Technician will aid the sales staff in preparing proposals for façade and marketing projects. This will involve creating detailed 3D simulations of potential façade implementations, preferably with some degree of simple animation.

•Interpret architectural diagrams to create 3D models of buildings

•Have an understanding of how people interact with architecture

•Create attractive, realistic 3D models of buildings

•Bring 3D models to life with basic environment animation

•Work with content specialist to integrate animated media graphics into 3D models

•Help sales staff in presentation of models to clients when necessary

To be successful in this application you should have the following qualifications:

•Have at least 3 years of experience preferably in an architectural practice

•Strong client facing and presentation skills

•Proficient in the use of standard CAD packages (Autocad/Solidworks)

•Proficient in 3D animation packages such as 3DS Max or Maya

•Proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects a definite advantage

•Should be able to show a strong portfolio of previous work

•Current driving license with no bans or restrictions

Working conditions

The employee will have a standard 40 hour working week with additional hours as necessary at the company’s discretion. International travel will on occasion be required. The employee will attend the Oxford office.
