Job Title: Accounts Assistant / Sales Ledger Clerk

Reporting to: Financial Accountant

Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Salary: Circa £17,500 per annum (dependant on experience)

Immediate requirement for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Sales Ledger Clerk to join our client’s accounts team based in Grantham, Lincolnshire!

Our client is a recycling giant based in the heart of Grantham and this role of Accounts Assistant / Sales Ledger Clerk is a fast-paced integral role within their finance department.

This is a combined role which involves responsibility for processing the sales ledger, as well as more general management accounting tasks. The role would be ideal for somebody hoping to progress towards being a management accountant in the future and training support will be provided for the right candidate.

Primary Duties:

  • Processing sales invoices
  • Sales ledger reconciliation
  • Assisting the Financial Accountant with the monthly accounting cycle
  • Processing inter-company and inter-group invoicing
  • Handling petty cash and reconciling the cash accounts
  • Dealing with trade customers and members of the public
  • Taking payments and handling enquiries
  • Dealing with any queries on sales ledger invoicing
  • Working with spreadsheets and sales ledger journals
  • Progression to weekly/monthly financial reporting available to the right candidate.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Is it you we are looking for?

The successful candidate must have prior experience in a finance role, and experience in a management accounting environment would be an advantage. You will need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, preferably able to use basic lookup functions and pivot tables.

Skills required:

  • High attention to detail – essential
  • Knowledge of accountancy and basic skills in bookkeeping
  • Microsoft packages Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • AAT newly qualified/part qualified
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to business needs
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
