We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to work within the HR Business Services Team for Plymouth City Council.
Based at a City Centre location, this is an exciting opportunity to join a large public sector organisation.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a payroll / HR department previously.
You will be responsible for payroll administration duties, ensuring correct application, accuracy and timescales are met for internal and external clients, including new starter and leaver administration, variations to pay, absences, deductions from pay, statutory
deductions and payments.

You will be required to deal with and respond with professionalism to escalated payroll queries, and issues from team members, employees, managers, clients and third parties escalated from HR First Contact helpdesk.

You will also deal with the adjustments to pay relating to under or overpayments liaising
with individuals, managers and colleagues to ensure appropriate corrective action
is taken.

You will have experience of delivering excellent customer service, and a knowledge of using technology to deliver efficient processes.

We are looking for someone who works well under pressure and has exceptional attention to detail.

The working hours for this role are 08.30 - 16.30, Monday to Friday, with an hourly pay rate of £9.62.
