Business Operations Analyst - reporting to the Head of Business Operations and working in listed derivatives clearing area, with the main focus being on 'Top Day' Clearing on the LME, ICE and CME markets. The emphasis is on total quality clearing ensuring all downstream impacts are kept to an absolute minimum and the service to the client is second to none. FUNCTION: > Clearing trades on the LME/ICE/NCM Exchanges, with quality of processing being a focus. > Work closely with trade support and traders to ensure all trades are allocated and cleared correctly. > Completing shifts according to checklists and procedures. > Completing all intra-day and EOD controls to ensure all processes are running and all trades are feeding from source to final books and records system in UBIX > Communication, completion of section of EOD report related to shift performed. > Escalating any issues to supervisor/Manager, if unsure or unaware of something, proactively asking supervisor/Manager or using resources available to find out. > Liaison with the exchanges, China Merchants branches and all internal departments such trading desks, IT and client service departments. RESPONSIBILITIES: > Monitoring all exchange market watches in Clearvision and Exchange matching systems. > Monitoring exchange GUI's > Manually keying trades that are not processed via the trade feed > Help to identify problems and escalating, trades not feeding, trades remaining on intra-day reconciliations, issues with clearvision. > Trade discrepancies have to be followed up in a timely manner, and the continual monitoring of Clearvision, LME /ICE/NCM matching system and other controls. > Understanding the impact on clients and downstream departments making decisions that minimise impact of clearing failures on these groups. > Additional reasonable tasks as per delegation from management. ESSENTIAL: > Minimum 1 to 2 years experience in a LME/ICE/NCM clearing role or other experience or qualifications that demonstrate an aptitude for a clearing role. > Some knowledge of STP clearing using middleware, ideally previous use of Clearvision clearing application and its interaction with the exchange. > An understanding of the concept of post trade allocation using allocation tools such as Brady, CQG, TT, FF and the interaction with Sungard application like Clearvision and UBIX. > Preferable knowledge of the ICE clearing platforms such as ACT, PTMS, ECS. > Capable of using exchange matching systems. > An understanding of a back office books and records system such as Ubix / GMI > Familiar with a variety of common desktop applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet browsers. > Good problem solving skills. > Keen to learn, inquisitive nature, meticulous, motivated individual NICE-TO-HAVE: > Previous experience using Clearvision, Ubix, GMI or similar. Good exposure with LME Smart / LME Clear, ICE GUI's and CME products. > Previous warrant/physical delivery process and using LME sword would be useful. > Previous experience in reconciliations. > Foreign language abilities > Technical skills PERSONAL COMPETENCIES Cognitive thinker - Focused on developing knowledge base and understanding to improve quality and efficiency of individual performance and that of the team as a whole.
