A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a rare vacancy for a Registered Manager with an organisation well known throughout the sector for providing therapeutic residential care and education, focused on transitions back to a family setting before the teenage years. Success rates with primary age children are exceptional, confirming their status as a leading provider of therapeutic care and education. The home is for up to 12 boys and girls aged 6 to 12 years, who have with emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will lead, manage and motivate the care team to deliver the highest quality Therapeutic care inline with our established therapeutic model. Based in Kendal, Cumbria, the successful Registered Manager will earn a competitive salary, dependant upon experience. Established in 1995, the company are continuing their mission to help support young children who have experienced trauma, whose lives have been severely disrupted to grow socially and emotionally to learn to cope with school and everyday life. They are helped wherever possible, to return to families and day schools before they reach their teenage years. The company has 3 registered homes with schools on site, located in Natland, Kendal and Grange-over-sands. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the residential’s home Statement of Purpose and managing a team to achieve the same. Reporting into the Head of Care, your main duties will include, but not limited to: Ensuring children’s safety and well being is appropriately protected at all times Inspiring and leading a team of staff to deliver the highest quality of care Producing development plans for the service to ensure the delivery of high quality, clinically informed practice Co-ordinating and monitoring casework and administrative functions of the home Evaluating standards of performance, in line with Regulations 44 and 45 Assisting and supervising the continual assessment of the needs of the children to identify and prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate programmes for children Recruiting staff, including vetting, interviewing and inducting new employees Contributing to the staff training and development programme Liaising with various internal and external multi-disciplinary teams and commissioning authorities to ensure that the needs of all children are met Organising duty rotas to ensure adequate cover at all times Ensuring safe working practices are executed by staff in accordance with the Health and Safety Legislation The above are not a complete list of duties and responsibilities, but indicates some of the main areas attached to the post of Registered Homes Manager To be considered for the role of Registered Manager, you must have demonstrable, in depth experience of working in a residential setting, supporting young people with challenging behaviours, and proven management experience in a similar environment. In addition, the following key skills and qualities are essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services Detailed working knowledge of Child Protection Policies and Procedures Experience of working with OFSTED and other regulatory bodies Ability to handle conflict and mange sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes Experience of managing budgets Excellent verbal and communication skills with staff, young people, families, local community and external organisations Ability to make informed decisions, give direction and lead by example Able to multi task and prioritise using effective organisation and planning skills Full UK driving license If you wish to apply for this fantastic opportunity as a Registered Manager, based in Kendal, Cumbria, please click apply, and submit your CV and covering letter, detailing your suitability for the role.
