Building Services Design Engineer Required to work in London on a High Profile Contract. Up to £40,000 Per Annum + Benefits

Job Title: Building Services Design Engineer

Location: Central London

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Salary: £40,000

Job Purpose

  • Working closely with the Minor Works Manager as a key member of the minor works projects team to develop mechanical and electrical design solutions for projects and structures within the scope of the contract
  • To work on own initiative and required to supervise trainees & technician
  • Liaise with other team members in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve holistic building solutions to the client brief
  • Design and specify aspects of building services in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulation
  • Produce project estimates and formal quotations as require
  • Maintain a knowledge of current issues related to general construction and specifically building services guidelines, standards and regulations
  • Participate in effective presentations to clients and peer groups
  • Ensure quality of delivery
  • Undertake design for a wide range of project types and sizes
  • Take a flexible approach to the delivery of design solutions
  • Keep up to date with design trends/competitor awareness /design techniques

Skills required but not limited to:

  • Technically qualified from an approved/registered Higher Education College University Course as set out by the Engineering Council and a Professional body
  • Qualified in a Building Services discipline
  • Financial awareness & previous experience of managing a project budget
  • Demonstrable experience in building Services projects/design roles
  • Familiar with standard MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Customer care/relationship building skills (internal & external clients)
  • Have a good working understanding of all M&E systems outside of their core discipline 
  • Computer literate with Excellent communication skills amongst peer group
  • Flexible and willing approach to work
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good quality and process driven person
