THE ROLE

My client now seeks an experienced TRANSPORT PLANNER to join their MANCHESTER office.

Duties will include data collection, traffic modelling, detailed transport assessments, travel plans, scheme design, preparation of funding bids and strategic assessment from a transport perspective.

THE CLIENT

Our client is a large multi discipline firms of construction and engineering consultants with offices right across the U.K.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to be an experienced Transport Planner.

Previous experience of data collection, traffic modelling, detailed transport assessments, travel plans, scheme design, preparation of funding bids and strategic assessment from a transport perspective is essential.

You will work as part of a team doing projects for a broad range of clients including public and private sector clients.

You will work on an exciting range of transport planning projects.

Good written and spoken English is essential to be able to liaise with other professional including Local Authority officers, Architects, Town Planners etc.

You will ideally have three years or more transport planning / development planning experience and be able to manage junior staff.

You will have good technical experience including familiarity with relevant software including TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, VISSIM, SATURN etc.

You must have an understanding of working in the Planning Regulatory framework, application of current highway design guidance and application of the relevant planning irculars and development control policies.

Ideally you will be a member of a relevant professional body.

Salary in the range of £23000 to £33000 plus car allowance, pension and other benefits.
