Overview:

We’re looking for a forward thinking Principal Developer to join our technology team. You’ll bring experience and energy to an ambitious and talented team, and have a desire to learn and teach in equal measure. This is as much about your contribution to a happy, collaborative environment, as it is technical excellence.

As a developer, you’ll join a small, cross functional team working on market leading web products. Whether you’re finding new ways to improve our current products, or building experiments to validate new ideas, you’ll be making a real, and direct contribution to the success of our business.

We have high standards. Getting through the door isn’t easy, but once you’re here you’ll get to work with some of the best technologists around.

What you’ll do

·You’ll work with exciting new tech. Right now, we’re into Node JS, AngularJS, Mongo, Amazon Services and more.

·You’ll be helping to solve real problems in the property industry, through the clever use of property data and the web.

·You’ll champion agile practices and continuous delivery.

·You’ll keep learning, and you’ll keep teaching. We rarely sit still for long.

·You’ll work in a small business, in a big business; start-up agility, with big business career opportunities.

·What you’ll bring

·You’ll have a broad knowledge of languages and practices, but more importantly, a solid grounding in the Principals they’re built upon.

·You’ll have built something that you're proud of, using the MEAN stack.

·You’ll be sitting towards the top of the seniority tree, in your current dev team.

·You’ll be an advocate for solid engineering practices, and for exploring latest trends.

Skills & Requirements:

There is of course a base-line of skills that we need and you should be able to demonstrate solid skills in the following:

Essential:

·Strong Angular.js

·Node.js

·HTML 5, CSS 3, Responsive Design.

·Object Orientated JavaScript skills.

·Linux.

·Experience of working on customer facing web applications.

·Experience of TDD and Object Oriented Principals.

·Agile Development (Scrum/Kanban).

·Strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills.

·Excellent problem solving skills.

·A real interest and passion for software product development and high quality code.

Desirable:

·Amazon Web Services.

·Mongo DB.

·Experience in mentoring others.

·Continuous Integration.

·Git/Stash.

·Puppet / Team City.

·One-click deployments, continuous integration and test automation.
