Position Description
Infrastructure Engineer - Leatherhead/Reading

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will required to work within project based team environments at CGI's Reading and Leatherhead offices.

You will be responsible for:

* Producing infrastructure solutions for a variety of systems, including live, test and development environments

* Configuration, testing, documentation and system administration of Windows and Solaris Server and Client Windows Operating Systems on development systems as well as live client sites

* Configuration, testing, documentation and maintenance of virtual systems including VMware vSphere ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V technologies

* Configuration and maintenance of infrastructure maintenance and support tools including backup, security patching, system auditing and configuration management tools

* Storage solution setup, maintenance and system performance management

* Configuration and documentation of switches, routers, firewalls, network traffic shaping, network performance monitoring and fault diagnosis
Mandatory requirements:

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server/Client operating systems including Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R1/R2, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Window Embedded

* Experience of Windows clustering technologies including Active/Passive Failover and NLB

* Network experience including building, configuration and troubleshooting

* Experience with Linux and Solaris systems

* Experience of designing and implementing discrete areas of work following clearly defined requirements

* Experience of Microsoft domain technologies including, AD, DNS, DFS, CIFS and domain lockdown to a standardised common criteria

* Experience of Virtual Infrastructure technologies including VMware vSphere ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V

* Storage Solution experience including setup, performance management, troubleshooting and backup

* Technical Lead Wintel experience on secure environments (Windows Server 2008, Windows 7) with an emphasis on troubleshooting configuration issues

* Network experience including system deployment, firewall and switch management

* Strong documentation test skills for the creation of system update instructions and for carrying out updates to network and build documentation

* Worked within a secure environment

* Experience with DFSR replication, log-shipping and a number of system support applications including MS SCCM, MS SCOM, MS DPM, McAfee EPO & HIPS, Endpoint Management and SNMP collection/monitoring

* Experience with PRISM EventTracker

Security Clearance: Must be a UK National and hold or be eligible for Security Cleared (SC) or higher clearance
